OPI RETRO SUMMER 2016 - SWATCHES & REVIEW

OPI rolls out the sweet, insouciant days of Summer with six new limited edition nail shades perfect for the warmer weather.

The Retro Summer collection channels the vintage and throwback fashions that ruled the season's runways. Think swimsuits with structural silhouettes, crop tops, cut outs and the return of the waist - old school gets a bold sophisticated twist with these cool assortment of hues.

I have all 6 shades from the Retro Summer Collection to review for you today :)

TOWEL ME ABOUT IT
Towel Me About It is a bright pastel yellow nail polish shade.
This tone of yellow is just perfect!

The formula is good. It applies beautifully, creamy and smooth. It's a little thin and patchy but it builds up to full opacity nice and easily in two - three thin coats.

I'M GETTING A TAN-GERINE
I'm Getting a Tan-gerine is a bright pastel orange-peach nail polish shade.
A lovely all-year-round nail polish.

The formula is good. It applies beautifully, creamy and smooth. It's a little thin and patchy but it builds up to full opacity nice and easily in two - three thin coats.

SPF XXX
SPF XXX is a bright orange-red-coral nail polish shade.
Quite a unique colour in my collection.

The formula of this polish is great - it's one of the better ones in the collection. It applies beautifully, creamy and smooth.
It builds up to full opacity nice and easily in two thin coats.

FLIP FLOPS & CROP TOPS
Flip Flops & Crop Tops is a bright medium-toned pink nail polish shade.
I'm a pink nail polish wearing girl but did not think this was "my shade of pink"... I was wrong. Surprise favourite!

The formula of this polish is great - it's one of the better ones in the collection. It applies beautifully, creamy and smooth. It's a little streaky but it builds up to full opacity nice and easily in two thin coats.

WHAT'S THE DOUBLE SCOOP?
What's the Double Scoop? is a bright bubblegum pink nail polish shade.
I'm obsessed!

The formula is good. It applies beautifully, creamy and smooth. It's a little thin and patchy but it builds up to full opacity nice and easily in two - three thin coats.

SAILING & NAIL-ING
Sailing & Nail-ing is a bright sky blue nail polish shade.
Yes! Yes! Yes!

The formula is good. It applies beautifully, creamy and smooth. It's a little thin and patchy but it builds up to full opacity nice and easily in two - three thin coats.

Overall, I really like this collection.

The formulas of all six of these polishes were generally the same - a little thin and they dry kind of patchy on some nails, however I had no issues with application - their smooth and creamy formulas make them pleasantly easy to control and apply. They also build up to opacity beautifully. They could all be considered decently opaque in two coats, but I personally think they look better with three coats as it eliminates any of the streaks or patches that are evident on close inspection - in other words, if you don't have OCD like I do, two coats should be OK. To each their own.

I'm really digging the sun-bleached / neon-pastel take on bright Summery colours. These muted down brights make them totally appropriate and wearable all day every day. Perfect for the warmer weather.

My personal favourites from this collection are; 'What's the Double Scoop?', 'Sailing & Nail-ing' and 'Flip Flops & Crop Tops'.

Check out the collection for yourself!
