SALLY HANSEN MIRACLE GEL 'SECRET GARDEN' COLLECTION - SWATCHES & REVIEW

Embrace the power of the flower and cultivate your nail polish collection with nature's most vivid hues! This season, the prettiest finishing touch to your wardrobe is a posy-pretty manicure you can do at home.

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel will keep your manicure abloom with the lasting results of a gel manicure without the hassle and expense.

Miracle Gel is a revolution in gel technology, with its part-lacquer-part-gel formula, promising up to 14 days of Colour and Shine - delivering a high shine, glossy salon quality manicure.

Get salon quality nails in two easy steps with Sally Hansen's Miracle Gel nail polish.
Here's how it works -

STEP 1:
Apply two coats of the Miracle Gel nail colour of your choice. - Apply just like regular nail polish.

STEP 2:
Activate the curing process with one coat of the special Miracle Gel 2X Volume Top Coat - it does not need to be cured by UV / LED light; so it's less damaging to the nail.

Sally Hansen have introduced six new botanically beautiful shades to the Miracle Gel collection that are available in duo packs. Each duo pack comes with one of six fresh-from-the-garden hues accompanied by the Miracle Gel Top Coat.

I have three polishes from the Secret Garden collection to review for you today :)

IN MY SUITCASE
In My Suitcase is a grey-beige nail polish shade.
Typically not the tone of grey I like to wear, but it's still a lovely neutral colour.

The formula is great. The polish is easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels well.

The polish seems a little thin but builds up to full opacity in two easy coats.

HEADED NUDE-WHERE
Headed Nude-Where is a creamy nude nail polish shade.
To me the neutral tone of this polish looks exactly like sand on the beach - it's totally giving me beach vibes.

The formula is kind of thick but the polish is easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail.

It applies a little patchy but it builds up to full opacity nicely in two - three thin coats.

FREESIA YOUR MIND
Freesia Your Mind is a lush berry pink nail polish shade.
This colour has me written all over it! I'm Obsessed!

The formula is perfect. The polish is easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels well.

It builds up to full opacity in one easy coat! Yes! Yes! Yes!

*  *  *

I really like these polishes - they're beautiful and have great formulas that apply effortlessly onto the nail, are easily opaque, and dry super quickly.

I found that the Miracle Gel polishes are quite glossy and gel-like on there own, so you could probably get away with not using the Miracle Gel Top Coat. If you want to ensure the longevity and durability of your manicure you will definitely need a coat top coat, but I don't think you necessarily need the specific Miracle Gel Top Coat. You could really use any top coat over these polishes; it just won't give your nails a 'gel'-like finish. There's nothing wrong with the Miracle Gel Top Coat, but I personally prefer using the Sally Hansen BIG Kwik Dry Top Coat instead - it's just my personal preference.

Sally Hansen claim the Miracle Gel polish system should last for up to 14 days on the nail. I did not wear these polishes for the full 14 days to test the claim, but I did have a few of them on for a full week. The polish wears pretty well. The polish only suffered some tip wear (which is to be expected). Other then that, I had no major chips and the glossiness of the polish did not dull at all. Really impressive.

I love that the Miracle Gel polishes have the same amazing signature wide brush Sally Hansen's Complete Salon Manicure range have; making the polish so easy to work with and application using the three-stroke method a breeze.

I am really amazed with how easy the polish was to remove with nail polish remover - whether it be acetone of non-acetone remover. It removes just like regular nail polish, no soaking, wrapping or scrapping required.

Definitely recommend trying out the system.

FLIP FLOPS & CROP TOPS
Flip Flops & Crop Tops is a bright medium-toned pink nail polish shade.
I'm a pink nail polish wearing girl but did not think this was "my shade of pink"... I was wrong. Surprise favourite!

The formula of this polish is great - it's one of the better ones in the collection. It applies beautifully, creamy and smooth. It's a little streaky but it builds up to full opacity nice and easily in two thin coats.

WHAT'S THE DOUBLE SCOOP?

SAILING & NAIL-ING
Sailing & Nail-ing is a bright sky blue nail polish shade.
Yes! Yes! Yes!

The formula is good. It applies beautifully, creamy and smooth. It's a little thin and patchy but it builds up to full opacity nice and easily in two - three thin coats.

Overall, I really like this collection.

The formulas of all six of these polishes were generally the same - a little thin and they dry kind of patchy on some nails, however I had no issues with application - their smooth and creamy formulas make them pleasantly easy to control and apply. They also build up to opacity beautifully. They could all be considered decently opaque in two coats, but I personally think they look better with three coats as it eliminates any of the streaks or patches that are evident on close inspection - in other words, if you don't have OCD like I do, two coats should be OK. To each their own.

I'm really digging the sun-bleached / neon-pastel take on bright Summery colours. These muted down brights make them totally appropriate and wearable all day every day. Perfect for the warmer weather.

My personal favourites from this collection are; 'What's the Double Scoop?', 'Sailing & Nail-ing' and 'Flip Flops & Crop Tops'.

Check out the collection for yourself!
