Rimmel has just introduced new Super Gel; an "exclusive" two-step gel colour system for salon-quality nails, which promise up to 14 days of superior colour and shine! 

It's quick and easy to apply, it dries like a regular nail polish, and no UV lamp is needed! 

The results: A flawless glossy nail finish with the 3D volume of a professional gel manicure...without the mess, the salon time or the empty purse, and without damaging your nails. It also removes easily with regular nail polish remover.

Here's how it works ~ 

STEP 1:  

Apply two coats of a Super Gel colour using the ultra-accurate precision brush (which is awesome!) for quick and easy streak-free application - the built in base coat means there is no need to prep nails to achieve a salon-perfect finish.

STEP 2:  

Activate the 'self-curing' process with the Super Gel top coat - natural light does the rest (no UV lamp needed).

There's no hanging around for hours - it dries super quick like any regular nail polish. 

The top coat gives an incredible light-reflecting shine and a super smooth durable gel finish that covers any nail imperfections.

Rock N Roll is a sexy deep red Super Gel nail polish shade.

The formula of this polish is perfect. It's very pigmented and creamy. It's very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels really well. 

It builds up to full opacity in one easy coat! 

ANGEL WING

Angel Wing is a pretty bubblegum pink Super Gel nail polish shade. There is also a super subtle silver shimmer that runs throughout it and is apparent in direct sunlight. 

The formula of this polish is lovely. It's very pigmented and creamy. It's easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It's a little streaky and patchy but it self-levels really well. 

It builds up to full opacity in two - three thin coats.  

BARE HUG

Bare Hug is a cool-toned / grey-toned nude Super Gel nail polish shade.

The formula of this polish is perfect. It's very pigmented and creamy. It's very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels really well.

COCKTAIL PASSION

Cocktail Passion is a beautiful bright pink-toned coral Super Gel nail polish shade.

SHALLOW BAY

Shallow Bay is a pastel mint green Super Gel nail polish shade.

The formula of this polish is lovely. It's very pigmented and creamy. It's very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels really well. 

It builds up to full opacity in two - three thin easy coats. 

PERFECT POSY

Perfect Posy is a beautiful pastel orange / peach Super Gel nail polish shade.

The formula of this polish is lovely. It's very pigmented and creamy. It's very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It's a little streaky and patchy but it self-levels really well. 

It builds up to full opacity in two - three thin easy coats. 

NEW ROMANTIC

New Romantic is a light baby pink Super Gel nail polish shade. There is also a super subtle silver shimmer that runs throughout it and is apparent in direct sunlight. 

The formula of this polish is good. It's quite sheer, but it's still very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It's a little streaky and patchy but it self-levels really well. 

It builds up to full opacity in three thin easy coats. 

GRAPE SORBET

Grape Sorbet is a pretty pearlescent / metallic mauve Super Gel nail polish shade.

The formula of this polish is lovely. It's very pigmented and smooth. It's very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels really well. Some brush strokes are noticeable when it's first applied - the wide brush makes the brush strokes a little less noticeable. 

It builds up to full opacity in one - two thin easy coats. 

SOUL SESSION

Soul Session is a warm-toned / brown-toned nude Super Gel nail polish shade.

The formula of this polish is lovely. It's quite sheer and jelly-like, but it's still very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels really well. 

It builds up to full opacity in two thin easy coats. 

URBAN PURPLE

Urban Purple is a stunning deep berry pink Super Gel nail polish shade.

The formula of this polish is perfect. It's very pigmented and creamy. It's very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels really well. 

It builds up to full opacity in one easy coat! 

DARLING DAHLIA

Darling Dahlia is a bright red Super Gel nail polish shade.

The formula of this polish is perfect. It's very pigmented and creamy. It's very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels really well. 

It builds up to full opacity in one - two thin easy coats. 

HAPPILY EVIE AFTER

Happily Evie After is a bright orange Super Gel nail polish shade.

The formula of this polish is perfect. It's very pigmented and creamy. It's very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels really well. 

It builds up to full opacity in two thin easy coats.

I didn't wear any of these polishes for 14 days to test Rimmel's claim, but I did try a couple of them for a full week. The polishes wear pretty well, but did suffer some tip wear (which is to be expected) and some minor chipping by the end of the week. The glossiness the Super Gel top coat creates didn't dull at all by the end of the week. 

The Super Gel top coat applies nice and smoothly and it doesn't smudge or pick up the polish colour onto the brush. I did notice that it bubbled slightly which was kind of annoying, but I suspect it may have just been due to not letting the base colour dry fully before applying the top coat. The top coat, itself, dries and hardens relatively fast without a UV lamp, which is awesome!

I like that the Super Gels remove with any nail polish remover, whether it be with acetone or non-acetone remover. They remove just like regular nail polish - so no soaking, wrapping or scraping is required.

Overall, I'm really quite impressed with the Super Gel line - the colour range is pretty, the formulas are phenomenal and application is a breeze.

My personal favourites from the new Super Gel line are "Red Ginger", "Blue Babe", "Bare Hug" and "Urban Purple".

I definitely recommended trying out some Super Gels for yourself!

FABY NAIL LACQUER PINK SHADES - SWATCHES & REVIEW

It's no secret that I love pink! 
Pink is my go-to nail polish shade - it makes me feel girly and feminine, which is probably why I like it so much.  

Whether its a soft baby pink, a bright neon pink or a deep berry pink, I'm all over it - i'll love it and i'll wear it! 

I have three beautiful pink FABY nail lacquers to share with you today :)  


WHAT'S WRONG WITH PINK?

What's Wrong With Pink? is a lovely bubblegum pink nail lacquer. 

It has a lovely delicate silver shimmer running throughout it which is apparent in direct sunlight. 

The formula of the lacquer is pigmented and creamy. It's very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels really well. 

This lacquer builds up to full opacity in two - three thin easy coats. 



HOLD MY HAND

Hold My Hand is a bright raspberry magenta pink nail lacquer. 

The formula of the lacquer is very pigmented and creamy. It's very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels really well - it's perfection!

This lacquer builds up to full opacity in one - two thin easy coats. 


THE QUEEN OF FLOWERS

The Queen of Flowers is a vampy berry pink nail lacquer. 

The formula of the lacquer is very pigmented and creamy. It's very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels pretty well - it's perfection!

This lacquer builds up to full opacity in one - two thin easy coats. It's technically completely opaque in one coat, but a second coat helps deepen and intensify the colour.

FABY NAIL LACQUER NEUTRAL SHADES - SWATCHES & REVIEW

Did you know the most popular nail shades are actually neutrals?...
Shocking, right?!
While your nail polish collection may be full of pinks, reds and shimmers, odds are, when you don't know which colour to wear, you'll choose a "safe" neutral colour. 

Classic neutral nails are so on trend because they look good on everyone, irrespective of skin tone or age. 
Wear it for a wedding and you'll look elegant and feminine, wear it for a party and it'll make you look glamorous and chic, and if you wear it to work, it makes you look sophisticated and professional - you just can't go wrong!

WHY DON'T YOU SPEAK?

Why Don't You Speak? is a beautiful vanilla-cream-beige  
nail lacquer.

The formula of the lacquer is very pigmented and creamy. It's very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels pretty well - perfection in a bottle! Such an amazing formula for a neutral / nude lacquer. 

This lacquer builds up to full opacity in three thin easy coats. 



SENSUAL TOUCH

Sensual Touch is a dusty pink-tinted beige nail lacquer.

The formula of the lacquer is a little thin but still smooth and creamy. It's very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels really well - fantastic formula for a neutral / nude lacquer. 

This lacquer builds up to full opacity in two thin easy coats. 



JACQUELINE D'ANTIBES

Jacqueline d'Antibes is a dusty muted plum-purple nail lacquer. 
It's quite unique and beautiful - I really like this colour.

The formula of the lacquer is quite thin and may pool at the side of the nail if not applied carefully. It's still very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels really well. It's also insanely glossy! 

This lacquer builds up to full opacity in two thin coats.

Neutral and Nude nail lacquers are notorious for their bad formulas, so a "good" one is hard to come by. I really like all three of the neutral shades featured in this Blog post. In my books, these are not just "good" but "fantastic"!

I've tried FABY nail lacquers before and the formulas never cease to amaze me - they're all literally perfection in a bottle! So so so impressed!

OPI HELLO KITTY COLLECTION 2016 - SWATCHES & REVIEW

She's a global symbol of friendship and fun and an icon with fans ranging from four to forever - Say Hello to Hello Kitty, OPI's newest muse! 

The OPI Hello Kitty collection celebrates all things happy, cute, colourful and sweet with it's 12 limited edition nail polish collection ranging from sweet glittering pinks to bright and punchy primaries. 

I have all 12 shades from the collection to share with you today :)

5 APPLES TALL

5 Apples Tall is a bright primary red nail polish shade. 
I really like this shade of red - it's kind of got a pink undertone to it (kind of strawberry red).

The formula is very pigmented and creamy. The polish is very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels pretty well - it's perfection in a bottle! 

It builds up to full opacity in one - two thin and easy coats. 


STARRY-EYED FOR DEAR DANIEL

Starry-Eyed for Dear Daniel is a stunning glitter mix of hot pink / magenta and baby pink micro glitter along with scattered super fine blue micro-micro glitter. 
It's absolutely stunning!! Definitely one of my favourites!

The formula is perfect, especially for a glitter. The polish is really easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't patchy and it self-levels really well.

This polish could be used as a glitter topper over another nail polish colour (would look amazing over black) or worn on its own. However, It's so glitter dense that it can easily be built up to full opacity on its own.
This polish is completely opaque in two thin and easy coats.

The polish dries down a tad gritty and textured due to the intense glitter density - it's not as gritty and textured as an OPI Liquid Sand polish though.  I personally don't mind that it's semi-textured, but if you're not a fan of the textured look, a coat of clear top coat will smooth it out and give it some extra gloss and shine. 


KITTY WHITE

Kitty White is a pearly white shimmery nail polish shade. 
It's very pretty and dainty. 

The formula is good but quite thin and sheer and tends to run on the side of the nail if not applied carefully. It's still nice and smooth, easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels pretty well.

This polish could be used as a shimmery topper over another nail polish colour or worn on its own. It can be built up to full opacity on its own in three - four thin coats

It looks beautiful with even just one coat, but when completely opaque, it looks so sparkly and beautiful.


LOOK AT MY BOW!

Look at My Bow! is a beautiful bubblegum pink nail polish shade.  

The formula is very pigmented and creamy. The polish is very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky and it self-levels pretty well.

It builds up to full opacity quite easily in two - three thin coats. It generally only needed two coats but did look a little patchy on some nails, so a third coat may be needed.


SMALL + CUTE = ♥

Small + Cute = ♥ is a pretty peachy blush-toned pink nail polish shade. This polish is just so flattering and beautiful. 

The formula is lovely and creamy. The polish is very easy to apply and glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky and it self-levels pretty well.

It builds up to full opacity quite easily in two - three thin coats. It generally only needed two coats but did look a little patchy on some nails, so a third coat may be needed.


MY TWIN MIMMY

My Twin Mimmy is a bright primary yellow nail polish shade.

The formula is very pigmented and creamy. The polish is easy to apply and glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels pretty well.

It builds up to full opacity nicely in two - three thin easy coats. It generally only needed two coats but did look a little streaky and patchy on some nails, so a third coat may be needed.


LET'S BE FRIENDS!

Let's Be Friends! is a beautiful and delicate light baby pink nail polish shade. It's very light and white-based, but you can still definitely tell that it's pink. Very feminine and dainty - I just love it!

The formula is lovely and creamy. The polish is easy to apply and glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky and it self-levels pretty well.

It builds up to full opacity quite easily in two - three thin coats. It generally only needed two coats but did look a little patchy on some nails, so a third coat may be needed.



CHARMMY & SUGAR

Charmmy & Sugar is an amazing, amazing, amazing (one "amazing" just isn't enough...it's just that good!) iridescent pink-purple shimmery glitter mix with pink, blue, silver, green small hexagonal glitters. It's so beautiful and unique!! Definitely one of my favourites! (My swatch really does not do this polish justice!)

The formula is really good, especially for a glitter. The polish is really easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't patchy and it self-levels really well.

This polish could be used as a glitter topper over another nail polish colour or worn on its own. However, It's quite glitter dense that it can easily be built up to full opacity on its own.
This polish is completely opaque in three thin and easy coats. It looks amazing with even just one coat, but when completely opaque, it's magic!

MY PAL JOEY

I really like this shade of blue!

The formula is very pigmented and creamy.The polish is very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels pretty well - it's perfection in a bottle! 

It builds up to full opacity in one - two thin and easy coats. 


NEVER HAVE TOO MANI FRIENDS!

Never Have Too Mani Friends! is a standard stark black nail polish shade. 

The formula is very pigmented and creamy. The polish is very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels pretty well.

It builds up to full opacity in two thin and easy coats.

Not unique in the slightest, but it's a good polish nonetheless. 


SPOKEN FROM THE HEART

Spoken from the Heart is a hot pink coral nail polish shade. 
I like this colour a lot more than I was expecting to.

The formula is a little thin and jelly-like, but, it's still very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels pretty well.

It builds up to full opacity in one - two thin and easy coats. 


SUPER CUTE IN PINK

Super Cute in Pink is a devine pink-purple nail polish shade. 
I genuinely love this polish so so much! I've been rocking this on my toes for weeks and can't get enough! Definitely one of my favourites from this collection!

The formula is a little thin and jelly-like, but, it's still very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels pretty well.

It builds up to full opacity in two-three thin and easy coats.

Overall, I really quite like this collection. The colour selection is so lovely and cute. I also absolutely love the adorable Hello Kitty printed bottle caps.  

I definitely recommend checking out this collection for yourself - you will not be disappointed! 

There isn't any particular polish in this collection that I wouldn't recommend, (they're all just that good), but my personal favourites and picks from this collection are "Charmmy & Sugar", "Starry-eyed for Dear Daniel", "Super Cute in Pink" and "Let's Be Friends!".
