OPI HELLO KITTY COLLECTION 2016 - SWATCHES & REVIEW

She's a global symbol of friendship and fun and an icon with fans ranging from four to forever - Say Hello to Hello Kitty, OPI's newest muse! 

The OPI Hello Kitty collection celebrates all things happy, cute, colourful and sweet with it's 12 limited edition nail polish collection ranging from sweet glittering pinks to bright and punchy primaries. 

I have all 12 shades from the collection to share with you today :)

5 APPLES TALL

5 Apples Tall is a bright primary red nail polish shade. 
I really like this shade of red - it's kind of got a pink undertone to it (kind of strawberry red).

The formula is very pigmented and creamy. The polish is very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels pretty well - it's perfection in a bottle! 

It builds up to full opacity in one - two thin and easy coats. 


STARRY-EYED FOR DEAR DANIEL

Starry-Eyed for Dear Daniel is a stunning glitter mix of hot pink / magenta and baby pink micro glitter along with scattered super fine blue micro-micro glitter. 
It's absolutely stunning!! Definitely one of my favourites!

The formula is perfect, especially for a glitter. The polish is really easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't patchy and it self-levels really well.

This polish could be used as a glitter topper over another nail polish colour (would look amazing over black) or worn on its own. However, It's so glitter dense that it can easily be built up to full opacity on its own.
This polish is completely opaque in two thin and easy coats.

The polish dries down a tad gritty and textured due to the intense glitter density - it's not as gritty and textured as an OPI Liquid Sand polish though.  I personally don't mind that it's semi-textured, but if you're not a fan of the textured look, a coat of clear top coat will smooth it out and give it some extra gloss and shine. 


KITTY WHITE

Kitty White is a pearly white shimmery nail polish shade. 
It's very pretty and dainty. 

The formula is good but quite thin and sheer and tends to run on the side of the nail if not applied carefully. It's still nice and smooth, easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels pretty well.

This polish could be used as a shimmery topper over another nail polish colour or worn on its own. It can be built up to full opacity on its own in three - four thin coats

It looks beautiful with even just one coat, but when completely opaque, it looks so sparkly and beautiful.


LOOK AT MY BOW!

Look at My Bow! is a beautiful bubblegum pink nail polish shade.  

The formula is very pigmented and creamy. The polish is very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky and it self-levels pretty well.

It builds up to full opacity quite easily in two - three thin coats. It generally only needed two coats but did look a little patchy on some nails, so a third coat may be needed.


SMALL + CUTE = ♥

Small + Cute = ♥ is a pretty peachy blush-toned pink nail polish shade. This polish is just so flattering and beautiful. 

The formula is lovely and creamy. The polish is very easy to apply and glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky and it self-levels pretty well.

It builds up to full opacity quite easily in two - three thin coats. It generally only needed two coats but did look a little patchy on some nails, so a third coat may be needed.


MY TWIN MIMMY

My Twin Mimmy is a bright primary yellow nail polish shade.

The formula is very pigmented and creamy. The polish is easy to apply and glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels pretty well.

It builds up to full opacity nicely in two - three thin easy coats. It generally only needed two coats but did look a little streaky and patchy on some nails, so a third coat may be needed.


LET'S BE FRIENDS!

Let's Be Friends! is a beautiful and delicate light baby pink nail polish shade. It's very light and white-based, but you can still definitely tell that it's pink. Very feminine and dainty - I just love it!

The formula is lovely and creamy. The polish is easy to apply and glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky and it self-levels pretty well.

It builds up to full opacity quite easily in two - three thin coats. It generally only needed two coats but did look a little patchy on some nails, so a third coat may be needed.



CHARMMY & SUGAR

Charmmy & Sugar is an amazing, amazing, amazing (one "amazing" just isn't enough...it's just that good!) iridescent pink-purple shimmery glitter mix with pink, blue, silver, green small hexagonal glitters. It's so beautiful and unique!! Definitely one of my favourites! (My swatch really does not do this polish justice!)

The formula is really good, especially for a glitter. The polish is really easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't patchy and it self-levels really well.

This polish could be used as a glitter topper over another nail polish colour or worn on its own. However, It's quite glitter dense that it can easily be built up to full opacity on its own.
This polish is completely opaque in three thin and easy coats. It looks amazing with even just one coat, but when completely opaque, it's magic!

MY PAL JOEY

My Pal Joey is a bright primary blue nail polish shade. 
I really like this shade of blue!

The formula is very pigmented and creamy.The polish is very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels pretty well - it's perfection in a bottle! 

It builds up to full opacity in one - two thin and easy coats. 


NEVER HAVE TOO MANI FRIENDS!

Never Have Too Mani Friends! is a standard stark black nail polish shade. 

The formula is very pigmented and creamy. The polish is very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels pretty well.

It builds up to full opacity in two thin and easy coats.

Not unique in the slightest, but it's a good polish nonetheless. 


SPOKEN FROM THE HEART

Spoken from the Heart is a hot pink coral nail polish shade. 
I like this colour a lot more than I was expecting to.

The formula is a little thin and jelly-like, but, it's still very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels pretty well.

It builds up to full opacity in one - two thin and easy coats. 


SUPER CUTE IN PINK

Super Cute in Pink is a devine pink-purple nail polish shade. 
I genuinely love this polish so so much! I've been rocking this on my toes for weeks and can't get enough! Definitely one of my favourites from this collection!

The formula is a little thin and jelly-like, but, it's still very easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels pretty well.

It builds up to full opacity in two-three thin and easy coats.

Overall, I really quite like this collection. The colour selection is so lovely and cute. I also absolutely love the adorable Hello Kitty printed bottle caps.  

I definitely recommend checking out this collection for yourself - you will not be disappointed! 

There isn't any particular polish in this collection that I wouldn't recommend, (they're all just that good), but my personal favourites and picks from this collection are "Charmmy & Sugar", "Starry-eyed for Dear Daniel", "Super Cute in Pink" and "Let's Be Friends!".

OPI STARLIGHT COLLECTION - SWATCHES & REVIEW

Good evening Starshine! 

Beauty and technology collide to stellar effect in OPI's new Starlight Collection.

(General consensus: all of the shades are beautiful and formula's are all a dream to work with!)


LOVE IS IN MY CARDS

Love is in My Cards is a lovely rich red nail polish shade.

The formula is creamy, smooth and looks super glossy. The polish is really easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail, it isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels really well.

This polish is completely opaque in one easy coat - it's truly perfection in a bottle!

PRESS * FOR SILVER

Press * for Silver is a beautiful rose gold chrome nail polish shade.
It's very delicate and feminine on the nail.

The formula is perfect and applies nice and smoothly. The polish is really easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail, it isn't patchy and it self-levels really well.

The polish looks extremely streaky when first applied, but when it dries the streaks are less noticeable. 

This polish is completely opaque in two thin easy coats.

GIVE ME SPACE

Give Me Space is a gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous (one gorgeous just isn't enough) rich blue nail polish shade with scattered silver metallic and holographic micro glitter throughout it - it looks so sparkly in person.

The formula is perfect. The polish is really easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail, it isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels really well.

This polish is completely opaque in two thin easy coats.

SUPER STAR STATUS

Super Star Status is a silver glitter nail polish with medium sized metallic gold hexagonal glitter. I love the silver and gold mix - It's so sparkly. 

The formula is perfect, especially for a glitter. The polish is really easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail and it self-levels really well.

This polish could be used as a glitter topper over another nail polish colour or worn on its own. It's so glitter dense and can easily be built up to full opacity on its own.

This polish is completely opaque in two easy coats with some dabbing possibly needed in certain areas (particularly the lower parts of the nail). 

The polish dries down super gritty and textured due to the intense glitter density - it's very much like an OPI Liquid Sand polish.  I personally don't mind that it's textured, but if you're not a fan of the textured look, a couple of coats of clear top coat will smooth it out. 

GUYS & GALAXIES

Guys & Galaxies is a super deep and vampy ox-blood red nail polish shade.
I love dark vampy colours like this.

The formula is a little jelly like and looks super glossy. The polish is really easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail, it isn't streaky and it self-levels really well.

This polish is a little patchy but is completely opaque in two easy coats.

RO-MAN-CE ON THE MOON    

Ro-Man-ce on the Moon is a gorgeous rich red metallic foil nail polish shade that glows on the nails. It's stunning! 

The formula is perfect. The polish is really easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail, it isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels really well.

This polish is completely opaque in one - two thin easy coats.


I'M IN THE MOON FOR LOVE

I'm in the Moon for Love is a lovely shimmery plum-berry purple nail polish shade.  
To me the bottle looks like it has a gold shimmer running through it, but the polish doesn't really translate as shimmery on the nail as it does in the bottle - but it is still somewhat shimmery in direct sunlight, and beautiful nonetheless. 

The formula is great. The polish is really easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail, it isn't streaky and it self-levels really well. 

This polish is a little patchy but is completely opaque in two easy coats.

CE-LESS-TIAL IS MORE

Ce-less-tial is More is an amazing rose gold glitter nail polish. It consists of a mixture gold and rose gold small and micro glitter, as well as some larger silver holographic glitter.
It looks like a glitter bomb has exploded on your nails. 
I'm lost for words with this one. It's absolutely stunning!

The formula is perfect, especially for a glitter. The polish is really easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail and it self-levels really well.

This polish could be used as a glitter topper over another nail polish colour or worn on its own. It's so glitter dense and can easily be built up to full opacity on its own.

This polish is completely opaque in two easy coats with some dabbing possibly needed in certain areas (particularly the lower parts of the nail).

This polish is seriously everything you could ever want a glitter nail polish to be. I love it and can't get enough!

INFRARED-Y TO GLOW

Infrared-y to Glow is a very unique glitter nail polish topper. It consists of small silver hexagonal holographic glitter, and weird confetti looking gold and rose-gold chunky glitter. 

The formula is okay. It's quite base-heavy, meaning there's more clear polish rather than glitter that transfers to the nail with each brush stroke, so I had to dab on some glitter in certain spots to get an even looking coverage. I'd suggest turning the bottle upside-down a couple of minutes before you intend to use it in order for more glitter to transfer to the brush.

I doubt this polish could be made completely opaque on it's own, as it's intended as a topper, so I've swatched one coat of it over Guys & Galaxies which is also a polish in this collection.

I really quite like it!

I have never seen this kind of glitter before and it just works. It looks awesome! 

CENTER OF THE YOU-NIVERSE 

Center of the You-niverse is a lovely charcoal-black nail polish shade with scattered silver metallic shimmer and micro glitter throughout it.

The formula is great - it applies smooth just like a cream polish. The polish is really easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail, it isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels really well.

This polish is completely opaque in two thin easy coats.

When first applied, you will notice there is some small matte black hexagonal glitters that translate onto the nail, but it just gets covered up with an additional coat of polish. These small glitters make it look a tad gritty on the nail, but it's not too noticeable (you will only notice it if you look really closely in direct sunlight). If it bothers you, one coat of clear top coat will smooth it out. Top coated or not, I really quite like this polish - it looks just like the night sky. 

LET YOUR LOVE SHINE

Let Your Love Shine is a stunning dark red nail polish shade with gold shimmery flakies.

It's so unique - love it! 

The formula is perfect. The polish is really easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail, it isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels really well.

This polish is completely opaque in one - two thin easy coats.

It's technically completely opaque in one coat, but the second coat really helps intensify the colour and flakies.

COMET CLOSER

Comet Closer is a cool-toned gold chrome nail polish shade with tiny gold micro glitter scattered throughout it. 

The formula is great. The polish is really easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail, it isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels really well.

This polish is completely opaque in two thin easy coats.

The tiny gold micro glitter gives it a weird textured look but it also dries down to a satin finish - so it's textured and smooth??

Still not sure how I feel about this one...
Ironically, I didn't mind it on my nails, but it does look a bit weird.
I think a coat of clear top coat will smooth it out and make it look better.

Overall I really quite like these polishes. I honestly liked the collection a lot more then I was expecting to. The colour range in this collection is simply stunning, especially for this time of year, and the formulas are seriously perfection in a bottle! 

I definitely recommend checking this collection out for yourself - you will not be disappointed!

My swatches really don't do these polishes justice; they are a lot more sparkly in person. 
These polishes literally make the sparkle and glow of distant stars and galaxies right at your fingertips, no telescope needed!

There isn't any particular polish in this collection I wouldn't recommend, but my personal favourites and picks from this collection are "Give Me Space", "Ce-less-tial is More" and "Let Your Love Shine".

Today I have 4 polishes from the Music Collection to share and review for you...



 ARE YOU AC OR DC?   - ROCK MUSIC

Are you AC or DC? is a deep green (so dark it looks black) nail lacquer shade with gold, blue, teal and green micro glitter flakies. It's so unique and absolutely stunning! 

This lacquer is named after the infamous Australian hard rock band AC/DC.

The formula of this lacquer is creamy and really easy to work with. It's easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail, it isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels really well.

This lacquer is completely opaque in two thin and easy coats. Love it!!

 WEMBLEY '86   - ROCK MUSIC

Wembley 86' is a deep blue nail lacquer shade with an iridescent pink-violet glittery undertone; giving it a duo-chrome look. It's so unique and looks amazing on the nail! 

This lacquer is named after the famous Queen album, live from London's Wembley Stadium.

The formula of this lacquer is smooth and really easy to work with. It's easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail, it isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels really well.

The general formula of this lacquer is a little thin, so the more coats of lacquer applied, the more vibrant it looks on the nail. This lacquer is completely opaque in two - three thin coats.

It builds up to full opacity quite easily - each coat of lacquer dries super quickly in between coats. When it's fully opaque, words cannot describe how gorgeous it is. 
My swatch really does not do it justice! It's truly perfection in a bottle!

 VINCERÒ!    - SOUL MUSIC

Vincerò! is a rich and creamy violet-purple nail lacquer shade.

This lacquer is inspired by "...the resolution and hope waiting for a triumph, like the tenor sings 'Vincerò' looking forward to the dawn in the Turandot."

The formula of this lacquer is super creamy and smooth and really easy to work with. It's effortlessly glides onto the nail, it isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels really well. 

This lacquer is completely opaque in one - two thin and easy coats. Beautiful!


 SWEET TUNES - COUNTRY MUSIC

Sweet Tunes is a bright orange-toned red nail lacquer shade with an iridescent pink-gold glittery undertone. It's finish is quite similar to Wembley '86, but a little more toned down and subtle - less apparent on the nail.

The formula of this polish is creamy and really easy to work with - It's easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail, it isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels really well.

This polish is completely opaque in one - two thin coats.
It's pretty much opaque in one coat, but I could still see my nail line (which I personally don't like to be able to see). With a second coat of lacquer, it intensifies the colour and hides any visible nail line. The lacquer builds up quite easily - each coat of lacquer dries super quickly in between coats. 
 *Note: the whiter your nail line, the more coats of lacquer you'll need to apply to reach full colour opacity with no visible nail line.

Overall I really quite like these lacquers. The colour range in this collection is simply stunning and the formulas are seriously perfection in a bottle! 
My personal favourites and picks, from what I have tried from this collection, are "Wembley '86" and "Are you AC or DC?".

These are the first lacquers I've tried from FABY and I'm so impressed! 

The colour selection is unique, the formulas are amazing and apply just like butter; they build up to full opacity nice and easily on the nail and dry super quickly - AWESOME! 

I definitely recommend trying out some FABY lacquers for yourself. 

I pride myself in honest reviews, so if I say you NEED some FABY in your life, I genuinely mean it! 
I cannot recommend the brand enough.
