JESSICA COSMETICS BEAUTY IN BLOOM SPRING 2022 COLLECTION - SWATCHES & REVIEW

Spring is in the air! Get Spring ready with the new JESSICA Beauty in Bloom collection! The collection consists of the prettiest bouquet of punchy pastel nail polish shades that are sure to flatter all skin tones. 

Today I am reviewing the new JESSICA Beauty in Bloom Spring collection :) 

  HYDRANGEA   

Hydrangea is a creamy white nail polish shade with a *hint* of pastel pink. 

The first words that come to my mind are "clean" and "fresh". There is no doubt in my mind that this classic shade will look beautiful and chic on anyone! 

The formula is ok but it applies slightly patchy. 

It's opaque in 2 - 3 thin coats (typical for this kind of shade). 


  DAHLIA  

Dahlia is a bright coral orange-pink nail polish shade.

I'll be rocking this one on my toes this Spring / Summer! I think this would look really nice on deeper skin tones too.  

The formula is nice. 

It's opaque in 2 thin easy coats. 


  MORNING GLORY  

Morning Glory is a deep indigo blue nail polish shade. 

It's dark, but not so dark that it looks black (it definitely looks blue in all lights). Not a shade that screams "Spring" but it works! It would be a great transitional colour from Winter - Spring, if you're a seasonal nail polish wearer. I however, will be wearing this one all year round. If you're a fan of blue nail polish, this is a good one! 

The formula is great. 

It's opaque in 2 thin easy coats.


  FORGET ME NOT  

Forget Me Not is a pastel blue nail polish shade.

Now this one SCREAMS Spring! I really enjoy this colour! 

The formula is good but it applies *slightly* patchy. 

It's opaque in 2 - 3 thin coats. It looks totally fine in two coats, but the perfectionist in me would add a third coat for good measure. 

  CAMELLIA   

Camellia is a pale pastel pink nail polish shade.

Is it bad that I had no idea what a Camellia flower was? I totally had to google it LOL! My ignorance aside, this is quite a pretty hue! In the bottle, this one looks very similar to its sister in the collection "Hydrangea" however, it's actually more pink than that one. Do you need both?...YES!

The formula is nice (better than Hydrangea IMO). 

Although, it's also opaque in 2 - 3 thin easy coats. 

  QUEEN OF THE MEADOW    

Queen of the Meadow is a taupe-brown nude nail polish shade. 

A lovely neutral. It's described as a pink on the JESSICA website but it pulls quite brown on me. I suspect it looks different depending on your skin tone. It's very very pretty! 

The formula is great! 

It's completely opaque in 1 - 2 thin easy coats. It looks completely fine in one coat, but again, the perfectionist in me would do a second coat for good measure.

I really like that JESSICA Cosmetics have thought outside the "box" with this collection. They have managed to come up with a new take on Spring nails while staying true to classic Spring nail trends. The collection as a whole is cohesive and the shades look fabulous together! I will totally be rocking these this Spring!

JESSICA COSMETICS PHENOM U GOT THE LOOK COLLECTION - SWATCHES & REVIEW

A PHENOMenal evolution in polish technology, exclusively formulated for salon professionals, PHENOM is JESSICA Cosmetics answer to "gel" nails without needing a UV / LED light; promising up to 10 days of lasting colour and gel-like shine.

It's fast, it lasts and it can be achieved in 3 easy steps.  
Here's how it works - 

STEP 1: BASE COAT

Apply two thin coats of any JESSICA base coat to prepared nails (nails completely free of polish, oils, etc) - this will ensure maximum adhesion and wear.

STEP 2: PHENOM COLOUR

Apply two thin coats of your desired JESSICA Phenom colour - apply just like regular nail polish. 

STEP 3: FINALE SHINE

Apply one thin coat of the JESSICA Finale Shine top coat over the colour - this sets and cures the colour giving it a gel-like shine (no lamp needed! It hardens with natural light exposure!)


*APPLICATION TIPS: Apply thin coats of polish and ensure each coat is fully dry before applying the next coat.

VIOLET CREAM  

Violet Cream is a blurple nail polish shade. 

I really REALLY like this one! I suspect this one would be a crowd favourite. It's so pretty!

The formula of this one made my jaw drop - it's perfect and opaque in 1 easy coat! AMAZING!!!

PAISLEY PINK  

Paisley Pink is a magenta pink nail polish shade. 

Love! Love! LOVE! Honestly, there is nothing unique about this one but i'm a sucker for pink nails, and this is a good one! 

The formula is literal perfection! It applies like butter and is completely opaque in 1 easy coat! Big YES from me!

PURPLE REIGN  

Purple Reign is a deep violet purple nail polish shade.

Dark, but not so dark that it looks black (it definitely looks purple in all lights). It's so vampy I LOVE it! 

The formula is lovely! It's completely opaque in 1 - 2 thin coats. I personally think it looks better in two coats but you could definitely get away with one coat.

A collection of purple and pink nail polish? I'm here for it! Oh and you really can't go wrong with a JESSICA polish, their formulas are incredible!

JESSICA COSMETICS LA BELLA VITA SUMMER 2022 COLLECTION - SWATCHES & REVIEW

Travel may seem impossible with the way the world is at the moment, so why not transport to Italy with JESSICA Cosmetics and some new nail polish? 

Today I am reviewing the 6 bright and fun, Italy inspired, nail polish shades from the JESSICA Cosmetics Summer 2021 La Bella Vita collection :)

  CIAO BELLA  

Ciao Bella is a hot fuchsia pink nail polish shade.

If you've read my blog posts before you'd know i'm ALL about this shade of pink! You can't go wrong!

Perfect smooth and creamy formula. 

Opaque in 1 - 2 thin easy coats (my swatch shows 2 coats).

  SORRENTO SUNRISE  

Sorrento Sunrise is a bright coral pink nail polish shade.

A great poolside shade. Would look really nice on toes.

Lovely smooth formula.

Opaque in 2 thin easy coats.


  ITALIAN MARBLE  

Italian Marble is a light grey nail polish shade.

Clean, fresh and sophisticated. A great palette cleanser. Love it!

Great smooth and creamy formula.

Opaque in 2 thin easy coats.

  POSITANO PINK  

Positano Pink is a warm baby pink nail polish shade. 

It's pink. What's not to love? I think this would look amazing on darker skin tones too! *insert heart eyes*

Opaque in 2 - 3 easy coats. It applied slightly patchy with me, but rectified quite nicely in 3 thin coats. 

  COOL CAPRI  

Cool Capri is a vivid sage-teal green nail polish shade. 

All I've written in my notes is "amazing!" for this one. That, it is!

Perfect smooth and creamy formula. 

Opaque in 1 - 2 thin easy coats (my swatch shows 2 coats). 

  CIELO BLU  

Cielo Blu is a vibrant sea blue nail polish shade.

What a stunning shade of blue! I adore this one! Love love!!

Again, perfect smooth and creamy formula!

Opaque in 1 - 2 thin easy coats (my swatch shows 2 coats).

Bellissimo! Another great JESSICA Cosmetics collection! The colour selection is simply "perfecto" for Summer and the warmer weather at the beach out in the sun -  the colours definitely give me Mediterranean vibes  #nailedit!

It's hard to choose a favourite from a collection this pretty (they're all just *that* good), but my personal picks right now are; Ciao Bella, Italian Marble & Cielo Blu. All 6 colours are so cohesive and just look so nice together that I'm also really into wearing a different shade on each nail; as a rainbow manicure. 

JESSICA polishes are available in classic and trend-setting shades with a huge variety of finishes including; creme, matte, metallic, glitter, opalescent, sheer and frost.

There's something for everyone! 

Added bonus, JESSICA nail colours are Cruelty Free, Vegan and free from nasty chemicals  - so they are gentle on you and the environment!

JESSICA COSMETICS CALIFORNIA GIRL SUMMER COLLECTION 2019 - SWATCHES & REVIEW

Feel flirty and cool this Summer with the refreshing new JESSICA Cosmetics California Girl collection.

I have all 6 polishes from the Summer 2019 California Girl collection to review for you today :)



OCEAN WAVES 

Ocean Waves is a teal green nail polish shade.
I love this tone of green! So fun!

The formula is PERFECT! It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels nicely. 

It's SUPER vibrant and pigmented*, covers amazingly well and builds up to full opacity nice and easily in one thin coat!
*It's so pigmented I would definitely recommend wearing a couple of coats of base coat to avoid green staining. For the record, it didn't stain my nails, but I would still wear base coat just to be safe (no one likes Smurf hands!)


VALLEY GIRL

Valley Girl is a taffy pink nail polish shade. 
I'm a sucker for pink! This is a good one!

The formula is FANTASTIC! It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels nicely. 

It's vibrant, covers amazingly well and builds up to full opacity nice and easily in two thin coats.


COOL IN THE POOL

Cool in the Pool is a pastel mint blue-green nail polish shade.
A crowd pleaser for sure! So pretty!

The formula is FANTASTIC! It applies slightly patchy but is still easy to work with and self-levels nicely. 

It's pigmented, covers well and builds up to full opacity nice and easily in two thin coats.


MALIBU BARBIE

Malibu Barbie is a shimmery pink nail polish shade with fine pink and gold shimmers scattered throughout it.
STUN-NING!

The formula is very sheer, but buildable (don't be deceived by the first coat!) The colour builds up really nice and easily.

I guess this one comes down to personal preference and nail length, as to how many coats will give you your desired effect / matches what you see in the bottle. My swatch shows two thin coats (which is how I'd personally wear it), but I also like the delicate shimmery effect in just one coat. 

This one would also be sheer enough to layer over another colour as a shimmer effect top coat - I think it would look SUPER cool over black.


DESERT SUNSET

Desert Sunset is a lemonade pink nail polish shade.
Oh, I like this one a lot!

The formula is good! It applies slightly patchy but is still easy to work with and self-levels nicely. 

It covers well and builds up to full opacity nice and easily in two - three thin coats. 
(My swatch shows two coats).


POPSICLE KISSES

Popsicle Kisses is a watermelon pink nail polish shade.
It's lovely! I didn't expect to like this one as much as I did. 
Would look spectacular with a tan! 

The formula is FANTASTIC! It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels nicely. 

It's vibrant and pigmented, covers amazingly well and builds up to full opacity nice and easily in one - two thin coats, depending on personal preference.

As per usual, JESSICA Cosmetics have nailed this collection! The colour selection is absolutely PERFECT for Summer and the warmer weather at the beach or down by the pool.

It's hard to choose a favourite from this collection, but my personal picks (right now) are; Ocean Waves, Valley Girl & Desert Sunset. I am sure if you were to ask me tomorrow, my picks would be different...they are all just such pretty colours! 
JESSICA gets an A++ for the colour selection!

I love that JESSICA nail colours are Cruelty Free, Vegan and 7-Free which means they are free from nasty chemicals like Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Toluene, DBP, Camphor, Xylene and Ethyl Tosylamide - so they are gentle on you and the environment!

JESSICA COSMETICS TEA PARTY SPRING COLLECTION 2019 - SWATCHES & REVIEW

Grab a sweet treat to celebrate the warmer weather with the delightful new JESSICA Cosmetics Tea Party collection.

I have all 6 polishes from the Spring 2019 Tea Party collection to review for you today :)



BLUEBERRY CREAM 

Blueberry Cream is a pastel cornflower blue nail polish shade. 
SO pretty! 

The formula is FANTASTIC! The polish is easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels well.

It's pigmented, covers well and builds up to full opacity nice and easily in two thin coats.


PUMPKIN SPICE 

Pumpkin Spice is a bright-pastel orange nail polish shade. 
It's pastel toned, but also so bright its *almost* neon! My swatch photo seriously does no justice! I hardly ever wear orange on my nails but I'll be rocking this all Summer, maybe even on my toes! Love it!

The formula is AMAZING! The polish is easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels well. 

It's SUPER pigmented, covers amazingly well and builds up to full opacity nice and easily in two thin coats.


YELLOW MERINGUE 

Yellow Meringue is a pastel yellow nail polish shade.
Very pretty! I could see this one looking stunning on darker /  tanned skin tones.

SO impressed with the formula of this one! Yellow nail polish (especially pastel yellows) are notorious for having bad formulas.This one is AMAZING! It glides onto the nails really nicely and evenly.

It builds up to full opacity in two - three thin coats, depending on application and personal preference (my swatch shows two coats).


EARL GREY 

Earl Grey is a pale grey nail polish shade.
I don't wear grey on my nails very often but I really enjoy this one. 

The formula is (surprise, surprise) FANTASTIC! The polish is easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels well.

It's SUPER pigmented, covers AMAZINGLY well and builds up to full opacity nice and easily in one - two thin coats.


LOVE YOU VERY MATCHA  

Love You Very Matcha is a pastel sea-foam green nail polish shade. 
So pretty!

The formula is (yet again) FANTASTIC! The polish is easy to apply and effortlessly glides onto the nail. It isn't streaky or patchy and it self-levels well.

It's pigmented, covers well and builds up to full opacity nice and easily in two thin coats.


LAVENDER LOVE  

Lavender Love is a pastel lavender purple nail polish shade. 
THIS COLOUR IS EVERYTHING! I LOVE IT!

The formula of this one is different to the rest - it's a little weird - it's sheer / crelly-like (not what I was expecting). It's still a dream to work with and self-levels well nonetheless.

It builds up to full opacity nice and easily in two thin coats.

I think JESSICA have smashed it out of the park (YET AGAIN!!!) with this collection! The colour selection is PERFECT for Spring and the warmer months - I do maintain that pastel nails are ALWAYS a good idea, so I'll be rocking these all year round!

Pastel nail polish formulas have a tendency to be bad (apply sheer, patchy and require multiple coats to look decent). JESSICA Cosmetics really have a way of creating amazing quality nail polish, and this collection is no different. The formulas of these pastel polishes are simply flawless - they apply beautifully and dry relatively fast! 
I am in awe!

My personal favourites from the collection are; Pumpkin Spice, Earl Grey & Lavender Love.
